Reference (FY 2026-27)

PSEB-registered IT/software/ITeS exporters get the most favorable rate — 0.25% final tax, an incentive specifically extended to Tax Year 2029 to support the IT export sector. Registering with the Pakistan Software Export Board is a prerequisite to access this rate; unregistered freelancers/exporters are taxed at higher rates.

Methodology, interpretation & sources

Purpose. Calculates the concessionary tax rate for PSEB-registered IT/software exporters versus unregistered freelancers and general goods exporters.

How to use the result. Start with source data you can verify, enter values on a consistent unit and time basis, and record the assumptions used. The main inputs on this page include Export Category, Custom Rate (%), Annual Export/Freelance Income (PKR), Your Name, Email, Company Name. Re-run the calculation when those assumptions change rather than carrying an old result forward.

Decision use. Use this tool as an estimate only. Pakistan tax rules, thresholds, exemptions and filing treatment can change through Finance Acts, notifications and FBR guidance.

Limitations. Verify the applicable tax year, taxpayer category and current statutory rates on FBR resources before making a filing or payment decision.

Verification checklist before relying on this result

A calculator is most useful when it makes assumptions visible. If a small input change produces a very different outcome, treat that sensitivity as part of the decision rather than selecting only the most favorable result.
