This simplified tool adds the zakatable amounts entered, subtracts the short-term liabilities you choose to treat as deductible, and compares the resulting net amount with the Nisab threshold you enter. When net zakatable assets meet or exceed that threshold, the tool applies 2.5% (one-fortieth).
Why Nisab is entered manually: Nisab values depend on the gold/silver basis, current market prices and the approach you follow. Keeping the threshold as a user-entered value avoids publishing a stale commodity price.
Limitations: Ownership period (hawl), business assets, pensions, debts, agricultural assets and other cases can require different treatment. This page is an arithmetic aid and does not determine a religious ruling. Confirm edge cases with a trusted qualified scholar and use current local guidance.

A calculator is most useful when it makes assumptions visible. If a small input change produces a very different outcome, treat that sensitivity as part of the decision rather than selecting only the most favorable result.
